Final day of SDCC 2011. Until Next year...

My day was spent pretty much entirely at NerdHQ, except for a few moments here and there. I worked the green room for Jared Padalecki's panel. I had met him before but never quite so standing right next to him, and he really is a giant, giant man. Very nice though. After his panel I worked at his autograph table, ushering people through the line, once the line was through I had a few moments to hang out with him and talk to him, and of course got myself a signed poster. He wasn't personalizing anything because we had to keep the line moving, but he took the time to personalize it for the crew, which was really sweet. I met 2 girls who were wearing shirts that said something like "If we could get our pictures taken with Jared Padalecki or Zachary Levi it would make our lives!" I thought they were adorable so I told them to head downstairs to the main NerdHQ area and Zac would be down there and I would see what I could do about getting them a picture with him. I knew Jared had to leave, but I thought they could shoot for 1 out of 2. After a while Zac did go downstairs and spend time with the fans that were hanging out before Jolt N Joes and NerdHQ would close down after a very successful first year at SDCC. Both girls were able to get their picture with Zac and were very appreciative, they even requested a picture with me!

After we were officially closed there was a lot of cleaning up and then a few moments with each other and Zac came down and gave a very heartwarming speech. He was crying, we were crying, there were lots of tears, but they were tears of joy (mixed in with some exhaustion, I'm sure). I was about dead at that point. Ever since breaking my ankle a few years ago it just gives out a lot easier and being on my feet 20 hours a day for 3 days straight was rough. I had stepped wrong while coming down the stairs on Sunday and heard a pop and I stayed off of it as much as I could the rest of the day as each step was super painful. After all was said and done everybody said their goodbyes and Wendy, Kathleen and I had dinner at the hotel -- well, they had dinner. I had water. It was a nice way to decompress, but I was eager to get on the road as well. The drive from SD was painful. We hit this completely random traffic that seemed to go forever and poor Wendy was so tired she was nearly falling asleep at the wheel. We finally made it home. The night ended with me being super cranky and getting into a fight with my mom, so it wasn't the ideal ending to things, but things worked themselves out and I am pretty sure I slept for 12 hours that night. My ankles were sore for a week though.

It only took me a few days to say "I can't wait til next year!"
