Keira's Blue Steel. This morning was her 2nd birthday party. She celebrated by rubbing VapoRub on her face and it got in her eyes. The whole house smelled of menthol and she was not a happy camper. Her eyes had to be flushed out. She settled pretty good once it was all over, she came and had a cuddle with me and we watched some cartoons. I think she's learning her lessons about rubbing creams on her face. The girl loves lotion though, and she thinks everything is lotion.

It's the Eleventh Doctor and Amelia Pond! Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were in San Diego for SDCC, and they did a Nerdist Podcast with Chris Hardwick just up the road from SDCC. I was able to score tickets along with some of my friends, Cerissa and Shar. We had pretty good seats, and the mic stands were really in the way, but it was incredible!! I had so much fun, and Wil Wheaton was there too and he brought things to a whole new level of awesome. I had such a great, great night.

One of the first people I see at SDCC. This guy was the greatest Doctor Who cos player I think I've ever seen. I really did a double take. The Tenth Doctor isn't an easy one, but he absolutely pulled it off. I've seen several pictures of him at SDCC besides mine and the boy looks good.

Below the jump is my account of Day 1. You don't have to read it. I wanted to record it while I remembered so that I can come back and read it in the future.

So I didn't get a photo in yesterday, it was hectic day. I was supposed to leave yesterday to go down to SDCC but I didn't feel well and I still had all kinds of things to get done here, so I decided to miss the first 2 days and head down via train early tomorrow morning. I was up all night last night getting things prepared. My plan was to stay up all night, get my laundry done and get packed, and get myself really, really tired so that I could fall asleep early (around 5pm) so I could get a full night sleep and get up around 4am to catch the underground to Union station and get on the first train to San Diego (which leaves around 6am). While killing time in the wee hours of the morning I was sitting at my computer watching history happen. I was watching the live feed from NASA's website and witnessing the landing of the final Space Shuttle mission, and it brought me to tears. I was applauding, and crying and I felt right there with everybody. It was absolutely worth staying up for and I was tired and emotional and I didn't care. I couldn't do anything but stare at the screen.

I was so busy today with SDCC stuff I hadn't thought to take a picture, but it looks as though my phone remembered because this picture was taken today, and I think its quite pretty.

I was back at The Nerd Machine warehouse today to finish off what we could before SDCC departure. It was even hotter today and so the people in the warehouse today were extra sweaty! It was good though, we were supplied with plenty of water. We put about 50 million shirts in 50 million tubes and got the inventory that is going to SD pretty well packed. Mina came up from SD to help today and she was a God send!

It was during one of the breaks that I walked by and found an Awesome head in a box. Captain Awesome's head to be exact, so there you go, a head in a box.

Today was crazy busy with getting things ready for NerdHQ and Comic Con. Went to Tej's house to get everything sorted along with Wendy and Kellie Jane. After a long day of guestlist preps, returning emails, and confirming hotel stuff we went out to dinner with a bunch of our girls. It was Wendy, Kellie Jane, Myself, Sisk, Amanda, Tess, and a girl Tess is dating. Went to a lovely Mexican food place in WeHo that I am dying to go to again once I get my gallbladder removed. There was a lot of yummy looking food on the menu that I couldnt eat, but my salad was quite good, so I can't complain. It was really nice having everybody together again. Looking so forward to SDCC!

Today was spent at The Nerd Machine warehouse prepping merch for Comic Con. It was a hot day and the warehouse was a bit of a sauna, but I met some super amazing girls, and got a lot of work done. Zac, Dave, and Courtney are exceptional people and I was glad to help. There is a lot to do yet, so I will be back probably Monday. Tomorrow I will be working with Zac's publicist getting the Nerd Party and other SDCC/NerdHQ business taken care of. Busy weekend before a crazy week... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Today is my friend Daniel's birthday. We used to work together and I used to draw him silly cartoons featurinig chickens (and sometimes robots). It has been a while since I have drawn him a cartoon, so I thought I'd sketch out something real quick for his birthday. So, really, inside thing, but it is the only thing I took a picture of today.

I ended up in the ER this morning with another gallbladder attack. Cute doctor did an ultrasound and said he saw some stones, so... you know... fun. I have an appointment for an official ultrasound at the very end of the month and then a consult with a surgeon in the beginning of August. Meh. Good news is I have Vicodin, so if I have another attack I will have something to ease the pain.
